Class Experience During this ongoing class, we will learn about CVC words. Each class will begin with a very short introduction to CVC words. The classroom will cover a large number of words during each session and every session will have a different sets of word families. Each learner will get an opportunity to help me begin building words and they will be given an opportunity to engage with other students as well. We will also encourage each other to build words. This is a very hands-on classroom with a Montessori approach.
Learning Goals The overall goal for this course is to give children opportunity to learn about CVC words and why they’re important.
Homework I encourage parents to speak with your children and ask them open-ended questions about how class went.

Learning to Write “With a Montessori Approach” (One-time Class) – 3 to 7 yrs. Old

Learning to Write “With a Montessori Approach”

Summary: Writing is a very important factor and during this class we will begin building our fine motor skills while engaging in conversation.

Class Experience

During this pre-writing class, learners will get an opportunity to use their fine motor skills to draw letters. This will help to build their strength in fingers and encourage them to become great writers.

 

This is a Montessori class and as a group we will discuss each finger and learn their names. I will ask open-ended questions and allow each student to give me a letter that they would like to explore. All letters will be displayed on my screen (only the one we are discussing) and I will write with them. I will lso guide them through the processes if needed.

Learning Goals The goal of this class is to encourage and motivate each learners writing skills.

Summary: During this one-time class learners will learn how to identify one’s tens and hundreds place value.

Class Experience During this online interactive class, learners will be given the opportunity to learn place value (ones, tens, and hundreds) in an engaging and live class. I will begin by reviewing simple numbers with all learns. Followed by reviewing our skip counting by 10’s and all learners will receive additional help if needed during this time. In the end, we will begin learning group counting and finally begin looking at the ones, tens and hundreds.
Learning Goals The goal of this class is to teach all learners how to identify ones, tens and hundreds.
Homework I encourage parents to ask their learner open-ended questions after class.

Summary: With the help of our alligator friend, we will begin learning the difference between greater than, less than, and equal to.
Schedule: 30 mins/ class Size: 10 to 12
­Age: 4 to 8 yrs. Old Cost: $13
Class Experience In this hands-on course, learners will be introduced to 3 great math concepts: less than, greater than and equal to. Before we begin learning the concepts, children will be identified and welcomed into the class. Then we will move forward by reviewing several numbers and identifying which one is less and which one is more.

 

After each child has grasp those concepts, we will begin learning what each symbol stands for. Then I will introduce the concepts together and begin allowing each student to help me solve several problems. Concepts will be reviewed as needed during the class.

 

Children should be able to identify numbers 1-20.

Learning Goals The overall goal for this course allows children to become aware of greater than, less than, and equal to symbols.
Homework I always encourage parents to ask open ended questions in reference to the class after your student has finished. Wait for their responses and allow them to visually show you what they have learned.

Class Experience

This class is a full year of 1st grade math ( covered in one semester) this course allows each child to learn hands on. Each topic that will be covered is below and broken down by months. All learners will engage in fun active learning, while communicating and having a great time. As a teacher it is my goal to encourage each learner to be their best self, I will ask open-ended questions and also find out how each learner learns best. My style of teaching has a Montessori apporach and I will us this approach to help engage each child and make a positive impact.
