Summary: This is a Montessori class that helps students learn processing skills.

Class Experience This is a Montessori class that helps students learn processing skills. During this course, your children will be allowed to use manipulatives to help them process their math facts and early learning skills. Most children learn best by being able to manipulate and touch things. This class will help them develop the skills they need in order to problem solve and reach their best potential when it comes to math.
Learning Goals Each child will grow and develop at their own pace. We will look at different materials and methods of problem solving, while having a great time and working together, for example, we will do some simple multiplication and division, while learning mathematical skills that will help them process better.
Homework No homework, unless we collectively or individually want to gather other information.
Supply List Students do not have to bring anything to class, but during class they might have to go and find things around the house to work with.
Progress Learners will have an opportunity to answer questions and I will reteach a concept if they seem to be struggling.
Time Commitment 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 – 4 hours per week outside of class.

Hands-on Creation (One-Time Class) – 4 to 9 yrs. old

Hands-on Creation

Type: One-Time Class   (can be taken multiple times)
Summary: This is a class that allows children to create and build at their level.
Schedule: 40 mins/ class Size: 5 to 8
­Age: 4 to 9 yrs. old Cost: $20

 

Class Experience This class allows children to create and build at their level. The method of teaching in this class is Montessori which is very open-ended and hands-on. Many of the activities discussed in this class are based on child interest and choice. This class will allow children to begin problem solving, predicting, develop better fine motor skills and much more.
Learning Goals Students will begin learning how to identify what truly interest them and how their ideas make a great impact. They will be able to identify more areas of interest and might become a little more independent.  Each child will get an opportunity to find something that they can bring to life and know that using recycled items can be fun and interesting
Supply List  Most of the items we will need are recycled materials.
External Resources Learners will not need to use any other websites
Progress Please ask your child/learner open ended questions about their creation after class

Building our Social Skills 2x A Week for Two Weeks Camp (With a Family Specialist) Multi-Day Course – 10 to 13 yrs. Old

Building our Social Skills 2x A Week for Two Weeks Camp (With a Family Specialist)

Type: Multi-Day Course
Summary: Improving social skills will allow learners to feel more independent and excited about communicating at a higher level.
Schedule: 30 mins/ class Size: 10 to 15
­Age: 10 to 13 yrs. Old Cost: $68
Class Experience In this class, learners will be given the opportunity to enhance their communication skills with a certified Health and Human Services professional. Some of the topics that we will discuss are empathy, personal space, taking turns, starting a conversation and much more. I will offer open-ended questions that will give each learner an opportunity to respond, and learn at their level. My teaching style is Montessori, and we will have a great time talking and learning with each other.
Learning Goals A few of the most important goals I will focus on are sharing, cooperating, listening, following directions, respecting personal space, making eye contact and using manners. These are just a few of the learning goals that I have in place, but we will also make individual personal goals.
Homework Each learner will be asked to implement the changes that they have learned during class.

Summary: During this one-time class, learners will learn about our senses and how important they are.
Schedule: 30 mins/ class Size: 4 to 8

Class Experience

During this live class, we will discuss our 5 senses, and engage in conversation. As a group, we will discuss our sense of touch, smell, hear, see and taste. Each one is very important and learners will be asked open ended questions in reference to our senses.

 

This is an open-ended class and learners will be able to share their thoughts and ideas. My teaching style is Montessori and this approach will be used to guide each learner during our live class.

STEM: Early Learning Science, Technology Engineering and Math Camp (Multi-Day Course) – 8 to 13 yrs. old

STEM: Early Learning Science, Technology Engineering and Math Camp

Type: Multi-Day Course
Summary: In this S.T. E. M. class, we will explore unique lessons each week and create our own stem creations
Schedule: 40 mins/ day Size:   8 to  13
­Age: 8 to 13 yrs. old Cost: $80
Class Experience

In this class, learners will engage in conversation as we learn about science, technology, engineering, and math. Each week we will create a project, these projects are listed below. As a class, we will explore ideas and make predictions, engage in thought processing and focus on each learners’ strengths.

 

This class is two days a week over a two-week period. During the first class, we will discuss the purpose of the STEM Projects and go over the materials needed for the next class. Please review the materials needed for each week and know that learners can use their imagination and bring other items with parent approval.

Learning Goals Leaners will learn about how Science, Technology, Engineering and Math work together and the important roles they play. We will break down each project and engage in conversation before we begin.
Homework If learners do not get the opportunity to finish the class, they can complete during their free time at home.

Catapult Materials:

popsicle sticks (8), rubber bands (at least 5), glue, plastic bottle cap to hold a cotton ball, cotton ball (if you do not have any available, you can make a small ball by crumbling some paper.)

 

Small open area (One square meter will do. It should be a sturdy, flat surface such as a table or floor.)

 

Optional: markers to decorate your popsicle stick

Balloon Bottle Car Materials:

Open table space, Tape measure (only if they have one), Wheels (round objects like bottle caps, etc.), Axles (wooden skewers, pencils, straws, etc.), Frame/body (plastic bottles, cardboard boxes, popsicle sticks, etc.)

Straws, Balloons, Rubber bands, Tape, Scissors, Other assorted, classroom/office supplies (paper clips, binder clips, zip ties, etc.)

Time Commitment Learners may have to work on project outside of class time.
